Mouzhan focuses her creative energies on scoring for film and television. She composes music in a variety of genres, passionately conveying an array of themes, narratives, and emotions to compliment any visual work of art. She has provided original compositions for feature films by Gairo Cuevas and Abraham Dieckman, and has scored short films, composed original music for radio title sequences and commercials, and her music has been heard nationally on CBS.

Outside of film, Mouzhan has written pieces for her solo projects, student projects, private clients, and the musical groups General Dubois, Khi Darag, The Jammin’ Jellies, and Carolyna Picknick. 

As a multi-instrumentalist, Mouzhan has worked with the band Khi Darag, a Middle-Eastern psychedelic rock band, and has performed with them at festivals and major venues,

 

including the Berkeley World Music Festival, The Great American Music Hall (opening for Fred Frith and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum), Café du Nord, and the Fillmore SF (opening for Les Claypool).

She has toured nationally with Aphrodesia, a 10-piece afro-funk band, where her vocals and dancing took center stage at venues including World Café Live, Shrine World Music Venue, Oregon Country Fair, Nelson Ledges, Dunegrass Music Festival, and The New Parish.  

Mouzhan has also recorded with Aphrodesia, General Dubois, Khi Darag, The Japonize Elephants, and The Jammin’ Jellies.

Her classical musical training includes study with Bahman Azadi and Ostad Mahmoud Zoufonoun. Mouzhan holds her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
